HOW TO DONATE TO YOUR CHAPTER

The easiest way to donate your quilts is to find your local Project Linus chapter. Many of their chapters have provided listings on their website with drop-off-sites. Visit their website to find the nearest chapter in your state!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that Project Linus has stipulations for donations: “Coordinators must be non-smokers and live and store blankets in a smoke free environment. Project Linus blankets must be of excellent quality and free from contaminants. Special care should be taken to ensure that blankets are free of smoky smells or any chemicals which could cause problems for a child. Ensure that blankets are free of pet or animal hair. Hospitals will not accept these blankets, and they will most likely be discarded. Recent studies show that laundering these blankets does not remove contamination, and in some cases can even make it worse. Always check blankets carefully for pins, and remove any embellishments such as buttons that could be swallowed.”

When it comes to quilting, many people don’t realize we aren’t always quilting for ourselves. A lot of time, effort, and love are put into quilts, and it’s incredibly satisfying to give one as a gift. It’s like you’re sharing a piece of yourself! In fact, here at National Quilters Circle, we often get asked the question “Is there a place I can donate my quilts?”

That’s why we are excited to announce our Quilting for a Cause Quilt Challenge. We’re gathering our incredible community members to come together and make quilts for charity. Our managing editor, Ashley Hough, has designed a specific quilt pattern for Project Linus, an organization that provides and distributes homemade blankets to children in need.

Together, we hope to make some amazing quilts to donate to an amazing cause! Learn more about Project Linus here, and find your local chapter here.
